I have to lose about another 46 pounds to be where I should be weight wise for my height. I have lost 30 pounds on my own over the last year and a half and have kept it off.
However when I went to the doctor my triglycerides were still too high (in the 400's- though down from 1400), along with the cholesterol and I am still pre - diabetic.
My doctor prescribed tri-cor, lunesta and phentermine.
None of which I asked for. I am not a good medication person.
My main concerns are the safety of the drug phentermine and if I will gain it back once I go off it. I don't want a temporary solution.
What are your experiences with this drug? I have read many many things about it.

Phentermine is the other half of the phen-fen drug (Has been proven safe by FDA) .
My boyfriend takes it because he has acute obstructive sleep apnea, and weight worsens this. It has been successful for him and is one of the only Diet Pills he can take without getting heart palpitations.
It's worked really good for his weight, and fairly quick! He is also on the 37.5mg. He swears by the medication and I think it is good as well. The only thing is I keep a eye on his blood pressure, because it has been high in the past, but never has increased it by much.
He's been on the medication 3 times, we sometimes don't have to money to go to the doctor and that's the only real reason for that.
He does seem to put the weight back on, but that's only because he won't eat right.
